The world gets wise to Internet Explorer

So, as you may or may not have heard, Google’s fallen out with China: more specifically the Chinese government, which may or may not (strangely both sides disagree on this one) have been hacking into Google Mail/GMail accounts of Chinese dissidents.

Well, apparently, the hacking was made possible because of a problem with Internet Explorer.

Google Autocomplete is weird

For those of you unfamiliar with it, Google autocomplete is a ‘feature’ whereas the omnipresent search engine tries to guess what you’re looking for as you type, presumably based on previous searches.

Well, some people are quite, quite odd as the fabulous Autocompleteme demonstrates.

Google reveals Chrome OS

So, last week Google previewed it’s upcoming operating system: Chrome OS.

For the non-geeky: operating systems – such as Windows, Mac OS X and Linux – are the bits that sit between you (the user) and the computer hardware (hard drive, graphics card etc).

Why does the world need another operating system you may wonder? Well, you’re not alone.

Gawd bless Google Street View

Google Maps is a wonderful invention and the addition of Street View allows you to get a much better feel for an area.

Right now, Google Maps is promoting the holiday planning aspects of the service – allowing visitors to take a look round Playa de las Teresitas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

An idyllic spot and no mistake.

Well except for the bloke in the England away shirt having a wee against a skip…
