Photoshop crash report

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Photoshop is flakey, always has been, probably always will be. And it always seems to crash when you least want it to (when you’ve finally completed a difficult procedure and are just about to save for example).

Anyway… when Photoshop crashes, a dialogue box pops up and asks you to send a report to Adobe to let them know what happened. And some people like to vent. (more…)

Party like it’s 1993

Ever thought that, well, you can do too much with your PC or Mac? It’s just *too* powerful.

Do you long for a simpler time when Minesweeper was the cutting-edge of games and overlapping program windows were a revelation?

You need the Windows 3.11 emulator :-)

Why people spend hours doing these things is beyond us sometimes… but we’re glad they do.

And all done in javascript… not even a whiff of Flash. Good work fella.

Star Wars v The A Team

Monday, December 28th, 2009

It’s the Christmas break, so we’re enjoying spending some time surfing the interweb and finding interesting things for the blog. :-)

Like us, you’ve probably wondered what a mashup between Star Wars and The A Team would look like.

Forgot about this until I stumbled upon it again today: what would the Apple web site have looked like in 1983.

Google Autocomplete is weird

Friday, December 18th, 2009

For those of you unfamiliar with it, Google autocomplete is a ‘feature’ whereas the omnipresent search engine tries to guess what you’re looking for as you type, presumably based on previous searches.

Well, some people are quite, quite odd as the fabulous Autocompleteme demonstrates.

How it could have been…

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Most people know that the part of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films was played by The Green Cross Code Man, David Prowse.

But, what if George Lucas hadn’t dubbed the booming tones of James Earl Jones over the top?

Warped Muppet genius

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Maybe you have to be of a certain age – mid to late 30s or above – to maintain a soft spot for the Muppets when you’re well into your adult life.

Or maybe quality endures? ;-)

Whichever, as soon as we saw the latest Muppets music video – we knew we had to share.

Find out who’s defriended you on Facebook!

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

We know we shouldn’t care, it’s just a silly web site. But, yes, when a “friend” defriends you on Facebook, you like to know who it is!

Not so you can begin a vendetta against them but there’s nothing more-annoying than seeing your Friend count go down one and not know who.

(Ed – there are actually a lot of things more-annoying but we get your point).

Now admittedly, if you can’t work out who’s removed you, that probably says a lot about your relationship. But still…

So, here comes Friend Drop (link will open a link to Facebook in a new window). Which tells you who and when someone defriended you.

It’s an interesting social experiment if nothing else. :-)

Right, we’re off to organise a vendetta…

Up Up and Away…

Our glorious leader (a title he wants us to adopt but are so far refusing to) Ross isn’t a big fan of heights – but, like all 30-something men there’s a 12 year old boy inside him that goes ga-ga over anything Star Wars.

“How cool is that!” he exclaimed when he saw this: a Darth Vader hot-air balloon at a festival in Leon, Mexico.
